International Exhibition & Conference on Processed Food (IPF- 2007)

INTERNATIONAL SHOWCASE OF FOOD PROCESSING SECTOR
(29th August - 2nd September)


Federation of Rajasthan Trade and Industry in association with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries Government of India, Commissioner Industries Department, Government of Rajasthan, and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Institute, (Government of India) Jaipur has successfully organized a five days International Exhibition and Seminar on Processed Food (IPF 2007) at the newly developed Exhibition Center, Jaipur Haat, Parsuramdwara, opp. Jalmahal, Amer Road, Jaipur from 29th Aug to 02ndSept 2007. This event was extremely successful and received all-round support from all stake holders.

The technical part of this event was handled by internationally acclaimed consultants, M/s Kamtech Associates (P) Ltd., Jaipur.

Reliance Fresh was the principal sponsor of this event, RIICO and ICICI Rural Banking are the sponsors, and Rajasthan Financial Corporation, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, Haryali Kisan Bazar, Small Industries Development Bank of India, APEDA and Rajasthan State agriculture Marketing Board are the Co-sponsors of this mega event. PCRA sponsored the souvenir.

Different institutions, organizations, private sector companies of national and international repute, and various Government departments participated in this mega event, along with all stakeholders in the food processing chain from farm gate to consumer.

During the seven concurrent technical sessions which covered technical papers on various aspects from Pre Harvesting , post harvesting, farm level value additions to Food Technology, Quality Code and Food Standards, Regulations & Safety, Food Branding & International Markets, Potential Processed Food Sectors, Plant & Machinery, Packaging and the Retail Sectors. In addition to the above, information was made available to entrepreneurs on assistance and facilities offered by financial institutions and commercials banks and promotional/assistance schemes of Government departments.

In the event more than 1000 delegates participants from all over India and abroad who came specifically to attend the technical sessions and 25000 entrepreneurs and industrialist viewed the exhibitions. The technical sessions were fully packed and interested entrepreneurs were enquiring for various values added technologies and marketing linkages.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Narpat Singh Rajvi, Honorable Industries Minister , Government of Rajasthan in presence of Shri Purposhottam Agarwal , secretary Industries, Government of Rajasthan , Shri Ajit K Singh, Commissioner Industries, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Kulpdeep Ranka, Managing Director RIICO, Shri K.R.Sharma , Director MSME Development Institute . Government of India and other dignitaries and invitees from industries and public .

They valedictory session was chaired by Mayor of Jaipur Shri Ashok Parnami who applauded the efforts of FORTI for organizing this important event in the Pink City and hope that next year IPF will be much more better and grandeur.

The main agenda which most of the small entrepreneurs, farmers and existing stake holders raised is lack of technology, lack of information about standards and quality controls parameters, food safety and standards and licensing issues information and above all market linkages.
